“All To Myself”, brought to listeners by Nashville and Minneapolis based MILKK, is a turn in a new direction for the band musically and lyrically.
Pat Kiloran, lead singer, is typically found candidly pulling apart the subjects of self-deterioration and struggle. While both of these subjects are at the eye of the hurricane of most every genre, MILKK has decided to change the atmospheric presence that their music brings and add some optimism to the mix.
“All To Myself” is a significant step towards the band finding themselves and their signature sound. Threaded with smooth lyrics of love and contentment and simple beats, it’s a leap from the band’s previous sound, but it tackles the subject at hand just as reputably, showing the band’s huge growth in the short time they’ve been in the public eye.
Just like the subject of love, the lyrics in the recent track are simple and easy to figure out. This helps differentiate MILKK’s love songs from others; theirs are noticeably more optimistic. Maybe that’s how love is supposed to be.
