Remi Wolf | Atlanta
Live from Atlanta, GA… it’s Remi Wolf! The 14th show of the Gwingle Gwongle Tour kicks off at the Eastern, a popular venue in the heart of Atlanta. With support from Orion Sun, the 26-year-old singer/songwriter was ready to rock the stage. Remi Wolf’s set includes a cartoony-looking tree that further supports Wolf’s carefree and warm energy.
“Quiet on Set” begins and the crowd erupts. An opening track that could energize any venue, Remi Wolf is jumping around on stage at her sold out show. “When I’m fresh out of ideas again,” Wolf saunters across the stage as she sings “Sauce,” from her EP, You’re a Dog. The 4-minute song showcases the artist’s stage presence as the track weaves through the venue. Wolf pumps up the crowd with “wyd,” the 8th track on her deluxe album, Juno. Named after her dog, the 19-track album has been praised for its originality and continues to showcase Wolf’s vocal range.
“Atlanta,” Remi Wolf croons. “I haven’t been back here since Music Midtown [in 2019].” The crowd starts cheering for the California-native. “I see some familiar faces,” she smiles and waves to a few people in the crowd. With performances of “Volkiano,” “Liquor Store,” and “Liz,” Remi Wolf’s Gwingle Gwongle Tour is one for the books. “Okay, so I have a few rules for my show,” Wolf begins and the crowd is buzzing. “Rule number one: sing every f**king lyric as loud as you can!” Hands are in the air and fans are showing their support for Wolf. She continues:
“Rule number two: find your hip hinges and find in your heart to wiggle them from side to side.
Rule number three: You’re gonna have to kiss your neighbor hard right now.
And rule number four: we’re gonna have a f**king good time!”
“Sexy Villain” rocks through the Eastern as fans sing along to one of Wolf’s popular tracks. Much like her live performance of “Pink + White” at The Electric Lady, Wolf embodies this Frank Ocean cover once again. With pink hues warming the stage, Wolf’s silhouette is illuminated for this 3-minute track. The show courses through some of Wolf’s popular tracks like, “Anthony Kiedis,” “Michael,” and “Woo!”
Suddenly, a rhythmic guitar strum runs through the venue and as the song rises to its intro, fans are already jumping for “Photo ID,” one of Wolf’s most popular songs comes from her 2020 EP, I’m Allergic to Dogs. Wolf ends the show with a notable encore. Not only does she perform, “Disco Man,” the final track of her 2020 EP, but, there’s a moment where the crowd participates in reciting positive affirmations.
Remi Wolf’s Gwingle Gwongle Tour is still in action, but with very few tickets available. You can catch Remi Wolf’s performance of “Liz,” on The Tonight Show this Monday, October 10th. If you can’t get enough of all things Remi Wolf, you can find her on Instagram and Twitter (@remiwolf). Wolf’s discography is available where you stream music!
