Currently starring as Sal on the hit Nickelodeon series “Hunter Street” is Daan Creyghton, a 15-year-old actor from Amsterdam who is quickly building a positive name for himself. Check out the interview below to learn more about the series, his interests, and what’s next for him!
When did you first get involved with acting?
"When I was 8 years old—not really acting, although being in a commercial is considered acting, I guess. I did some commercials in the Netherlands. That was my first experience. I was short for my age—that’s why I played a little boy who was 6 years old in my first commercial."
You currently star in Nickelodeon’s "Hunter Street", where you play Sal. Can you tell us a little about the show?
“Hunter Street is a family show about 5 foster children. In season 1, after the 5th child is added to the family the (foster) parents disappear and the children try to find out what happened to their (foster) parents. They go on many adventures while looking for them, which leads to many comedic situations and mystery. In the second season, the foster parents are back and two more siblings are added. Erik (father) is accused of a crime and the kids are trying to find out what is going on and want to clear his name. This season is even more mysterious and more comedic.
In what ways do you relate to your character Sal?
"I am the opposite of Sal, but there is one thing we have in common – family is really important to us. We both love to spend a lot of time with our family and we both always have their back."
Do you have any favorite memories from working on the set?
"There are a lot of great memories. It is a fun group to work with. We are all really close, and have a close bond together. We prank each other a lot, dance and sing together, and play games in the game room. We film at a lot of amazing locations in the Netherlands, like musea. I think filming in the castle was really cool, especially one of the last scenes. I can’t tell you too much about it but it will be hilarious."
When you aren’t acting, what do you like to do in your spare time?
"I love to play basketball, watch television, play games, chill with my friends, go to the movies, find cool sneakers, and look at new cars with my father."
What are some goals that you hope to achieve in the future?
"Acting-wise, I really hope to land a role in a blockbuster movie. I love playing a techie person, but a role like a cool guy or bad boy would also be very interesting to play."
